Beginners Programme

Ukemi (rolling)

10 week course starting in July

A 10 week intensive beginners programme will be held at Erindale Dojo, Police and Citizens Youth Club (PCYC) in Grattan Court, Erindale Centre, Wanniassa. This program commenced in July 2003, but new enrolments will be accepted well into July.

Classes will be held each Tuesday evening from 7.00pm to 8.30pm and will cover basic Aikido concepts.

Students will learn about fitness, stretching, flexibility and safety, along with some of the basic techniques including rolling, break falling and throwing. At the end of the program students will be invited to undertake a grading in these basic concepts.

Comfortable and loose clothing (ie tracksuit) is all that's needed. Cost will be $20 (does not include PCYC entrance fee - please refer to the Schedule and Fees page for more details on these).

Course participants will be required to complete a Martial Arts Contract prior to starting. You are also invited to review the etiquette and other training material on this site.

Please contact Clare Engel (0419 681 069) or Mark Nizette (0417 229 412) for further information, enrolment details or registration.

Below are recent graduates of the beginners course, most of whom were graded to 6th kyu, and are well underway towards their 5th.
